Normani has quickly become the IT girl for the culture and her latest Single & Video proves just that. The Entertainer shot us into the past with the rhythmic flow of the early 2000’s when music was setting a profound sound for the upcoming generation. Her summer hit ‘Motivation’ channels exactly that and is something that everyone can enjoy. In an interview with Rolling Stone she shared that “It’s a feel good record. I think that everybody will really love it.” She continued, “It was the first opportunity that I had to have fun,”
The video opens up with a young Normani watching everyones favorite show to get homework done too, 106 & Park with show host Terrence J and Rocsi Diaz. In the vintage TV screen the pair announce the number one video in the world, more like a true prediction , and we see a gorgeous adult Normani channeling a young Beyoncé in Dangerously in Love in a sort of deep ode to Houston with them both being natives of the big city. The video goes on with serious choreography, classic fashion, and a whole lot of girl power. Social media went into a frenzy upon the release with supports of celebrities all over from legends like missy Elliot, to new fan favorites like Cardi B pouring support and positive energy into her visuals and single.
The bar is definitely set for what to expect as she’s been pretty silent working on her debut album. Motivation is available to stream on all platforms.
