Kerby Jean-Raymond Announces Innovative Plans Pyer Moss’s New York Fashion Week Event

The times that we’re currently in have drastically changed the way that we’ve known our everyday life. One taking a heavy hit is Fashion. Forcing everyone in the industry to re-think the way that we intend to move froward, out of the box creativity is at an all-time high as we continue to navigate this new normal.

As the world is beginning to re-open slowly but surely with large gatherings still with no re-gathering date which puts a pause to Fashions most important time of year, Fashion Week. Fashion Weeks all around the world are still undecided, with London, Paris, and Milan moving to a digital fashion week next mont. The fate of “regular” Fashion Weeks for the September, and maybe even February, seasons are still uncertain as Saint Laurent has decided to completely remove their presentation from the 2020 schedule. Adding to the fresh take on Fashion shows, today Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss is presenting a new way to indulge in a virtual experience. With a teaser of a documentary Jean-Raymond is apart of. Titled American, Also, the film will accompany a Drive-In Fashion presentation. The film is a documentary that’s going to show the BTS of Jean-Raymond and the Pyer Moss team over the course of two-years leading up to the monumental Runway show September of 2019 at the Brooklyn Kings Theatre.

In an InstaGram post about the film, you hear Raymond’s sincerity saying “So many of us, when we get opportunities and huge platforms, the first thing we do is leave,” says Jean-Raymond over a soundtrack of choral music. “Slowly but surely, I’ve been finding my way back… now we’re finally home,” which is definitely what the atmosphere presented. The film will begin with a premiere during New York Fashion Week in September which will be followed by drive-in previews all around the world in different cities with exact details releasing later this summer. The release of the documentary will not feature a new Pyer Moss collection, but will be accompanied by a unique drop of merch. With the fate of Fashion Week in a completely vulnerable state, Jean-Raymond is pioneering yet another envelope pushing event.
