Tonight, after almost two years of a hiatus, The MET Gala is returning with such an intense re-emergence. Typically debuting on the ‘First Monday in May’ the event was postponed due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Held at its home: the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the theme is based around a pivotal inspiration throughout the entire fashion industry in every corner of the world. Titled “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” the themes brings the underrate, and sometimes overlooked, fashion trends that American Fashion designers, culture, and trends with the influential impact American fashion holds. The event will be held in two parts this season with the first sector of the exhibit opening in the Costume Center on September 18th.
Co-chairs for the evenings event this year includes Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka, Billie Eilish, and Amanda Gorman. The A-list of Hollywood from Artist, Actors and Actress, producers, and many more of the elite will be touching the infamous stairs of the MET museum and showcasing their most decadent fashions from the most acclaimed designers of the now, and the classic. The women on the red carpet brought a lot of sass and taste, drawing a close inspiration from old Hollywood glamour and creating moments to reference of their own.
