When it comes to business, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has proved to be a pioneer in the industry of supply and demand, so it’s no shock that he has continued to show his respects with recent events of the unfair treat of the African American community. With banners directly on the homepage, Amazon puts their support of the front view which unfortunately showed the true colors of shoppers.
Bezos took to Instagram to post a couple of e-mails he’d received after the banners went live stating that he’s “happy to lose” customers with such negative regards. In the e-mail preview the last name is obscured the last name and a racial slur used. The e-mail of the nasty customer states “I was placing an order with your company when I discovered your statement in support of Black Lives Matter. Maintain your stance and we will watch your profits decline and laugh about it. My business relationship with you is over.” Bezos responded with a caption of continued support, “this sort of hate shouldn’t be allowed to hide in the shadows. It’s important to make it visible. This is just one example of the problem. And, Dave, you’re the kind of customer I’m happy to lose.” He recently also pledged $10 million on behalf of Amazon to different social justice organizations to aid in continuing the good fight.
