When he isn’t schooling the children on POSE, he’s handing out unmatched lessons of fashion and visibility to the red carpet. Billy Porter has always had an uncaringly free flamboyant flavor that no-one knew was needed until we couldn’t go without. An all around treat to look forward too, Porter graced the Golden Globes red carpet in an all-white montage similar to the most luxurious rare peacock.
The Tony winning actor, who is also nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series (Drama) this evening, wore a custom Alex Vinash piece that came equipped with a train carrier. The appeal is that of a cross between a gown and a suit pieced together through a white button, satin pants, and an elongated Tuxedo jacket trailing a train full of dramatic white feathers. Keeping the drama live, he paired the mega-suit with a sparkly box-toed boot by Jimmy Choo, a satin cummerbund, and jewels by Tiffany & Co. The sleek delivery of innovative class was made for the perfect stand out talent, or as Porter said to E! red carpet correspondents, “This is not a sitting outfit—this is a standing outfit.”
