SAVAGE X FENTY

Lingerie for Valentine’s Day is just as necessary as those heart shaped boxes of chocolates and Rihanna has a new collection guaranteed to get whatever you desire. For her highly favored Savage X Fenty brand, she’s tapped a long time collaborator for the holidays lingerie drop. Remember in 2014 when Ri wore that Swarovski bare-all masterpiece to the CFDA Awards, it was designed by Adam Selman and the multi-entrepreneur and entertainer has circled around to link back up on a tasteful lingerie soiree.
Rihanna first tapped to Adam in 2018 to collaborate in a collection for the Lingerie line. “When she started Savage, she wanted something different than what was in the market and she wanted it to be unapologetic. I think that the history we have working together, I sort of take a very similar approach with my designing and I know how she likes to look at things.” Selman said to Vogue, continuing “I think that lingerie is strictly for the wearer. It’s not for the wearer’s partner, whoever that might be. I really think that it’s for the person wearing it, and it’s supposed to empower them in whatever scenario they’re in. That’s a mentality I tried to bring to my activewear too. I really think it’s supposed to empower and embolden.”
The collection is composed of a 19 pieces ranging from barrettes, breast pasties, and and assortment of panties and thongs split into two categories: Locket Down and Down The Aisle. Locket Down is intended for the spicy “bad ass babe,” comes in two colors metallic Goji Berry Red and Black Caviar. Each piece detailed in seductive vinyl spandex sets that include key charm zipper pulls, rose gold decadent hardware, and heart-shaped lockets. Down the Aisle is on the opposite side of the spectrum, made for the “deceivingly sweet,” taps the more the sensual side with sensual ruffles and heart trims. Each piece designed with the intent for sexy layering with a vintage appeal for the girl next door.
The campaign, which was shot by Dennie Leuphold, was showcased in true Rihanna standard with a variety of size and race inclusive style. Featuring models Paloma Elsesser, Adesuwa Aighewi, Joan Smalls, and Fiffany Luu the ladies put the dainty exclusives on full display in a stylish set-up in a bedroom format. Each set is packaged gracefully in a Savage X Fenty VIP box that includes a bonus collectors’ phone ring by Rihanna.
