Brands have always been in tune with the celebrations of all consumers around the world, and with Gucci‘s latest collaboration one of the biggest is put on the full forefront. The Italian Luxury brand has collaborated with Disney on a campaign to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The collection is themed around Disney’s famous mouse, Mickey Mouse in respect to the Chinese Year of the Rat (or mouse).
Shot by Harmony Korine, the collection is seemingly taken place in a rendition of the most magical place on Earth. The collection features a layout of different pieces that have the famed mouse spread over cardigans, sweaters, and accessories accompanied with the double ‘G’ monogram. The interlocking ‘G’ print references the vintage design from the original classics created in the ’80s. The interlocking G pattern, which holds the head of Mickey Mouse repeated throughout, is rich in definition and culture to align with the meaning and symbolization of the collaborative collection. The leather goods standout heavily as the print renditions a vintage appeal with the and spread across small bags, shoes, and a refreshing bucket hat.
The full Disney x Gucci capsule collection will be released January 3rd on the Gucci web store, select stockiest, and store locations.
