Alton Mason has been the rhythmic name buzzing on some of the most intense billboards across the globe. He’s a 22-year-old heartthrob who began dancing in the early age of his life and saw a career in modeling. At such a tender age, he’s already started a monumental trailblazing legacy. Named in BoF 500 most influential for this year, Mason has been working intricately on inking his name in stone over more genres than one. Alton made Fashion History when he became the the first black male to walk for Karl Lagerfeld in a Chanel show.
At the GQ Men of the Year Awards in Sydney, Australia, Mason accepted the Award for Model of the Year in only Alton Mason style. Shining as bright as his contagious energy, he wore a structured silver two-piece suit. The suit radiated throughout the venue with a medium flair leg tailored to sit atop his elongated Chelsea style boot. The coordinating blazer was tailored with a slightly elevated shoulder shawl neck style collar. He opted out of a button down and going shirtless with an appealing gaudy fabric covered button centered in the jacket. Upon accepting his award, he stated “I’ve had to sacrifice a lot for this moment and to be who I am today. One of the most challenging sacrifices I made would be operating from a place of fear. Fear is what made me suppress my light, surrender to my insecurities and succumb to my lower nature. Fear is a choice,” key thoughts to abide by when chasing any dream.
