NICKELODEON
Childhood classics have been slowly, but surely, re-inventing themselves as more and more Millennial are wishing on those childhood days. Netflix and Nickelodeon have confirmed a multi-year that’s reportedly worth $200 Millions to create a mass of original animations inspired by the channels classics.
According to sources close to both conglomerates, a new spin-off from fan-favorite Spongebob is in the works. the spin-off is said to be centered around Spongebob’s Octopus neighbor, Squidward. The spinoff comes after Netflix has already began streaming shows Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling and Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus that were both hosted originally on the nickelodeon platform. Although not many details have been released surrounding the projects, it is said to be a “music-based project,” as Squidward is a fluid Clarinet musician which he plays frequently throughout the series. The original Squidward was voiced by Rodger Bumpass who made a remarkable impression on the character, although not confirmed if he’ll be returning as the official voice in the spin-off.
Stay tuned as this story continues to develop.
