FEAR OF GOD
The Marathon will always continue as the latest collaborator, Fear Of God, continues to honor the late legend Nipsey Hussle. The high-end brands off classic brand, ESSENTIALS, will collaborate with Hussle’s merchandise brand, The Marathon Clothing. Before the passing of Nipsey, he had a collection deigned with PUMA that sold out in record time. The brands have paralleled each other to create a limited-edition capsule collection to pay homage to the prolific legacy of Hussle and his support and admiration of FOG’s Creative Director Jerry Lorenzo.
The collection has been named the “08 Crenshaw” capsule which will “see through a collaboration as Nipsey always envisioned it.” The title is a reference to Nipsey’s dedication to his hometown and his catapulting 2013 mixtape. The pieces of the collection tell the story of of both brands, as both of the founders are L.A. natives, including crewneck pullovers and hoodies. The pieces come in coordinating sets of the famous “Nipsey Blue” and heather grey. To complete the individual pieces, they’re co-branded with both labels logos’ including TMC’s classic “Crenshaw” logo and FOG’s “ESSENTIALS” block text logo.
To continue the goodwill of the stand-up Hussle, 100 percent of the proceeds from the collection will be donated to the trust fund for his children who survive him. The exclusive capsule collection will be available on October 25th at the Fear of God pop-up in Los Angeles.
