BAPE and MCM have collaborated on a collection for the forthcoming season. Last week a small teaser was released that got fans excited and now they’ve released the full collection of logo-covered pieces.
The collab is comprised of everyday staples for the colder season like thicker T-shirts, a crewneck sweater, and a track suit – just amped up. The T-shirts come in the essential colors of black and white, but feature a variety of different color logos covering the front of the T-shirt. The logo is the Bathing Ape head logo in colors Pink Neon Green, MCM’s classic brown, camouflage, black, and blue. Inside the Logo head is a monogram print of MCM’s Cognac Visetos throughout the frame and lettering that reads “MCM by Bathing Ape.” The track suit is one of the more flashier pieces with the signature BAPE camouflage throughout the entire tracksuit and line in a tuxedo stripe style down the sides of the arms and legs accompanying the same design as the drawstring hoodie.
To heightened the hype, the pair released a line of leather goods to complete the collection. The range includes MCM’s classic Weekender Bag, the Backpack, the Large and Mini wallets, and Baby Milo-shaped keychains. The goods come with MCM’s signature Cognac Visetos, but are complimented with individual custom markings unique to the BAPE brand like the classic Sharkface. The fanny pack, book bag, and leather slides hold a re-worked print with that’s been made to look similar to BAPE’s “World Gone Mad” print.
The collections lookbook was captured by Berlin based photographer Vitali Gelwich with the streets of Brooklyn to capitalize on the cutting edge appeal of the collection.
The MCM x BAPE collection will be a limited edition and include both women and menswear. The collection will be available starting October 26th at BAPE retailers globally, bapeonline.com and ZOZOTOWN starting Saturday, October 26.
