Pat McGrath is a literal living legend in the beauty industry and internationally recognized for her trendsetting beauty looks and mastering how to make a moment. Her latest muse was the Valentino SS20 Runway show where she turned the women of the runway into literal sparkling gems. The groundbreaking show, which was held at the Hotel National des Invalides, McGrath took was backstage creating those magical moments which she’s widely renown for. “Pierpaolo [Piccioli] really wanted gold,” she smiled telling Vogue. “He said, ‘Just play!”
Word she took sincerely, McGrath dug into her archive of mood board looks and created a revitalized rendition from a classic couture show. As fashion does nothing put circle the sun until it makes it way back around, sparkle and glamour are two things that go hand in hand are currently trending. To compliment the collection, Pat created four dazzling eye looks that reflected like custom links of gold jewels. One that soared across the internet was opening Supermodel Adut Akech’s bold eccentric eyebrows and wings, which McGrath orchestrated using her fresh Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palette in the pigment Nocturnal Nirvana to accentuate on theme of melodic graphic shapes continuing with “discontinued” layered stacks of sultry gold crystals on top to add a touch of realistic depth. “These are old Swarovski stones that are discontinued,” she explained. “It’s the last time they’ll ever appear!” Standing on the comment of exclusiveness she spoke on another hint of history as she finished the face of a model, “These are gold lashes I’ve collected since the ‘90s,” she said. “They’re collector’s edition and you can’t get them anymore.”
