Marvel Studios have been secretly casting an abundance on entertainment for there upcoming films over the next two years. Kevin Fieg, whom is the president of Marvel Studios, hit the stage in Hall H late Saturday to release the line-up of The Phase 4 slate under the MCU house. The biggest shocker of them all was the announcement with the return of Blade. Unfortunately the late 1990’s film star, Wesley Snipes, will not be reprising his role as Blade, but happily passes the torch onto the next. Marvel has casted Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali to continue the footsteps of the day walking half-human half-vampire, Blade.
In an official statement by Snipes via ComicBook, the OG gives his graces to all involved, including Ali, on the reprising of the franchise:
“To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, chillaaxx. Although the news comes as a surprise, it’s ALL GOOD. Such is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment!’ Much peace to the MCU crew – always a fan,” Snipes says. “Honor and respect to the grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come. Inshallah, we will someday work together. Most importantly to my loyal fans, the incredible outpouring of love is overwhelming. I am grateful for the never-ending support. So, ‘nah fret nah worry, it’s not de end of de story.’ Welcome to the Daywalker Klique.”
In return, Ali paid homage to the original Blade amidst the graces with a Social Media post with the simple caption of a brown and cross blades with photo of Blade in full uniform. Although the Phase 4 announcement was lined up and released, Feige confirmed that we won’t be able to see Ali on the big screen until MCU Phase 5.
