Disney Has Released The Trailer For The Live-Action Mulan

Disney has been extremely dedicated in making sure that it is possible to re-live the best parts of their most classic childhood movies. First, and most recently, there was Aladdin that soared across the Box Offices making history as Will Smith’s highest grossing film, and then the upcoming Lion King which features Beyonce as Nala, and most recently the media giant has freshly announced is the sassy and quick Mulan.

A little over 20 years since the debut of the original film, the live-action remake keeps the foundation of the 90’s hit with a few changes, some very recognizable. The story still follows the original plot following Mulan as she transitions from housewife to a fierce Chinese fighter. The change begins when her father falls extremely ill and is no longer able to fulfill his duties in the Chinese military. Mulan begins prepping for the duty and impersonating a male soldier as she strays away from the arranged marriage set for her before the Hun invasion.

Although the base stays the same there are some very notable changes immediately recognized in trailer. For starters there wasn’t that catchy tune of “who is that girl I see, staring straight, back at me?” Even more noticeable is the fact that there’s no Mushu, who was originally voiced by Eddie Murphy. How could there be a Mulan without her Mushu? Liu Yifei, who plays the live Mulan, is full of tricks and expertise on full display in the action packed sword-swinging trailer.

Mulan is set to hit theaters in March of 2020. What do you guys think of the trailer?
