If you haven’t heard of Pyer Moss, you’ve definitely been living under your grandparents khakis and holiday ties. Pyer Moss is the elevated brand for the cool kids of street-style with nothing to prove and a lot to show for it. Founded in 2013 by Brooklyn-born Kerby Jean-Raymond. An entrepreneur since 15 when he started his political T-shirt line, he’s now the latest to be acknowledged with one of Fashions most highest accolades, the Pratt Fashion Visionary Award.

With a flourishing brand that’s loved beyond, Jean-Raymond has managed to create a culture for the culture drawing the admiration from influencers across various platforms and celebrities of likes Rihanna and Issa Rae. Joining previous winners with the likes Thom Browne and Diane von Furstenberg, you can’t help but note the accolade is serious business. Kerby has done more than establish himself as credible force of Fashion and well deserving of the moment with monumental collaborations with Reebok and Hennessy.

“It is an honor to receive this award from such a prestigious fashion institute such as Pratt,” said Jean-Raymond in a statement. “My team and I strive to create designs that challenge social narratives and evoke dialogue. This award proves that we are on the right path and encourages us to continue using our platform to tell stories through our clothing.”

To add the cherry on top, presenting Jean-Raymond with the award will be another Fashion Architect, Dapper Dan. The ceremony will take place May 9th at Spring Studios where The Pratt Fashion Visionary Award is presented by the Pratt Institute as they hold a presentation at Spring Studios for their students to showcase their collections.
