The one thing everyone wishes they could be behind the scenes of is all things Hollywood. Today the teaser trailer dropped for the star studded film (Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt), ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ and we couldn’t help but wish we were born then.
Beyond it being the 9th film from Quentin Tarantino, the 1:45 second clip was jammed packed with fashion goals galore. The film is based on an A-list actor (DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Pitt), and their many tales of Hollywood in the 60’s. Fashion does nothing but repeat itself, so when the first look photo for the film went viral it wasn’t such a shock to see the studs in such relatable threads. Fashion does nothing but repeat itself. Brad, Margot, and Leonardo have always been original Style Influencers so the style breakdown wasn’t very hard as their real-life style transcends on-screen (aside from the creepy mustache DiCaprio wore in the final seconds of the trailer.)
The first look photo for the film is indeed, all that is needed for any street style enthusiast to get anxious about the film. Although there isn’t much to gather more than a western sort of action packed thriller, the cutting edge retro costume design is already the best part. Throughout the trailer Pitt has a very western, skanky cowboy vibe. Always with a pair of legit Aviators and denim of some sort. In the photo, he sports a denim jacket, black basic tee, coordinating jeans, and a neutral colored moccasin style boot, a.k.a the Canadian Tuxedo. As for DiCaprio, dressed as any star in the 60’s, a sort of monochromatic section go the color-wheel. A burnt orange leather jacket, mustard yellow turtleneck, and matching chocolate trousers and boots. Honestly the perfect look for a classic Playboy party, and the Rodeo style belt buckle is truly the icing on the cake. Yet Robbie stole the show in a subtle, yet remarkable statement in any era – white boots! Paired with a two-tone mini, the mid-calf boots was a flash to the past while still serving a lesson a timeless fashion which is just enough to hold us until July.
